Raul`s game-winning goal in the closing minutes of the game _____ his well-known ability to excel under stressful conditions.

Raul's well-known ability to excel under stressful conditions was Strehgthened or "proved true" through his game-winning goal in the closing minutes.

We need a word that should 'support' the fact the Raul is remarkable under stressful conditions, as he demonstrates his abilities in the closing minutes.

belied - Fail to give a true impression - Incorrect
contradicted - Disregard a fact - Incorrect
substantiated - Weakens or attack - Incorrect
epitomized - Symbolie or represent - Correct
decried - Publicly denounce - Incorrect
indurated - make hard or harder - Correct

D and F

The answers are C and D

I think that it is possible to eliminate some options. The sentence wants to say that the well-know ability to shine under stressful conditions was ¨...¨ with the goal in the last minute of the game. The blank word means something related with "confirmed".
a. belied: fail to fulfill or justify (a claim or expectation). This is the opposite were are looking for. Eliminated
b. contradicted. Agains the opposite. Eliminated
c. substantiated: provide evidence to support or prove the truth of. It is possible. Skip
d. epitomized: be a perfect example of. It is possible. Skip
e. decried: related with a publicly denounce. No sense.
f. indurated: make or become hard or harder. No sense.

So the best options are C and D.
