So: (bc)(ab) = (NEGATIVE)(POSITIVE)
Simplify: ab²c = NEGATIVE
Rewrite as: (ac)(b²)
Since we know that b² is POSITIVE, we can write: (ac)(POSITIVE) = NEGATIVE, which means ac is NEGATIVE
Also: (bc)(cd) = (NEGATIVE)(NEGATIVE)
Simplify: bc²d = POSITIVE
Rewrite as: (bd)(c²)
Since we know that c² is POSITIVE, we can write: (bd)(POSITIVE) = POSITIVE, which means bd is POSITIVE
We get:
QUANTITY A: NEGATIVE
QUANTITY B: POSITIVE
Answer: B
