In each of his frequently conducted television interviews,

A prepositional phrase that modifies the expert. Nothing to say more about

the expert economist exhibited adequate ________ to ensure that his syllogisms remained carefully balanced.

Basically the sentences say this: the expert in his/her interview explain or talk carefully to stay in equilibrium and not being biased: a balance.

So, if he/she has a balance probably than not he/she uses wise words or concepts

A and D are similar words that maintain the meaning of the sentence coherent

Hope this helps

If during interviews he remianed carefully balanced. Then it shows he was smart and cunning. Shrewd and savvy are the only match. Rest too negative
