A cannot directly justify the conclusion. Although there is a high chance that Peter Brandon want to finally do a self-portrait at 63 yrs olds( what a prime age to finally do one), why would he not want to paint his current self but himself over 30 years ago.
From art history, in my opinion, artists go through "periods" and each period reflects his own current mentality, and, most probably, his current appearance as well. Going back in time is just too much for the memory.

The way I approached A):
- It might be true that PB has other undated, younger self-portraits of himself, but it only adds to the mystery. It doesn't solve the current one.

Stimulus Premise 2: The painting (i.e., the self-portrait) shows a young, dark-haired man who is obviously Brandon, but clearly is not a man of 63.

Conclusion: The recent dating of the Brandon self-portrait to 1930 is surely wrong.
