A school is a place where children learn to adapt to a new environment and people. The author asserts that all parents should devote their time to volunteer at their children’s schools. I disagree with this statement as this statement would not favor the side of the children. It is important to spend time with children but children should be away from their parents during school time.
School is the first place for a child where he or she learns to become independent. The first day of school for any child is horrifying and sad as they have to leave their parent’s side for a couple of hours but this is how the child learns to become more independent by interacting with new people in a relatively new environment. If parents are volunteering at their kid’s school, in that situation the child won't leave his comfort zone and gel or mingle with others, rather the child would be willing to spend time with their respective parent.
In this modern world, both, the wife and the husband are working in order to earn bread. So, these working parents don’t have time to volunteer for such situations. There are children who travel from far away as their corresponding schools are not located in their respective towns or cities. So, it would not be viable for the parent to travel back and forth just to volunteer at school. There are cases where the child feels embarrassed having their parent around when they are with friends. So, these factors would not want a child to volunteer with their parents at school.
On the other hand, there might be a number of positive outputs if the parents decide to volunteer. For example, the parent can keep a close eye on their kid to notice their behavior around others. All the kids will always be in their best behavior when they will be around their parents, so mischievous activities won't happen. To conclude, kids should have their time away from their parents in school in order to learn and develop themselves more independently.
