3 √11 √b b
First, the range is MAX - MIN
as 3 < √11 => 3 must be minimum as the range is 12 and b is positive
Second, b - is maximum => b = 12+3 = 15
Third, √15 < √16 (or 4)

Since b is unknown,how are you assuming that 3 is the minimum number and not b?

The numbers in the list are 3,\(\sqrt{ 11}\) , \(\sqrt{b} \) and b is definitely positive

also the range is 12

So the list b -3=12 so b=15

Now at this point is legit to wondering why b cannot b < 3 or if could be the Maximum number in the list..

I.E if we think that b <3 we cannot have the Max -Min for the range b-3=12

well for the range baing 12 and \(\sqrt{11}\) is already 3.3 and the \(\sqrt{b}\) must be < b itself, the logic tells us that B is the upper most number in the list

Hope this helps

Since the range is 12 and we know that range is highest - lowest
Then we can infer b to be the highest number
Hence b=12+3=15
√b=√15=3.87

Therefore answer is B
