I have recently appeared for at-home GRE and got a 325 (156V, 169Q).
Although I might be able to get good universities with this score but still I am not fully satisfied with this score.
I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputed college. But I don't have much research work or published papers. Thats why I am aiming for a high GRE score.

My preparation:
For verbal, I have bought Magoosh's subscription. I have gone through all of their lecture videos and have attempted almost all the questions. Along with this, to overcome my weakness in RC (me not being a native English speaker), I have gone through all of the RC questions in from Manhattan 5lb book.

I have learnt around 800 words from Magoosh app (have skipped last 4 advanced lists) and around 100 words (different from Magoosh) from Manhattan's list.

I never had any problem in quants. I mostly get quants question wrong because of some silly mistake. So, I think I need to focus only on verbal.


In ETS practice test 1, I have got 327 (158V, 169Q).

In Manhattan's 6 practice tests, my scores were between 326 and 328 (around 156-159 in verbal). So, the score I have got on actual test is, in fact, my lowest score.

(During my test, my room wasn't properly locked and someone accidentally came in there. So, I had to turn around my camera 360 and show my proctor that the room is empty again and got a warning from him. I am not considering these lost 5 minutes as a reason for slightly low verbal score than practice test as it could be an experimental verbal section.)


So, should I spend some more time on strengthening my vocab? There are lists of 2000 or even 3000 words. Is learning those necessary if I am aiming for a 330+ score?

Can having a 330+ GRE score compensate for "having no relevant research work"?

Or should 325 will be well enough to get a good university?
