Step 1: Understanding the question
As \(a^2+b^2\) = odd, hence a + b = odd, eliminate B and D
\(a^2+b^2\)=145
\(b^2 = 145 - a^2\)
Step 2: Calculation
When a = 1, \(b^2\) = 144, b = 12; a+b = 13
When a = 8, \(b^2\) = 81, b = 9; a+b = 17
A and E are correct
