In the figure above, A, B, and C lie on the same line. B is the center of the smaller circle, and C is the center of the larger circle. If the radius of the smaller circle is 7, what is the diameter of the larger circle?

The diameter of the smaller circle equals the radius of the larger circle. So the diameter of the larger circle equals 4 times the radius of the smaller circle. \(4*7=28\)

A B and C lie on the same line => centers of the two circles lies on the same line=> the diameter of the smaller circle(B) is the radius of the bigger circle(C). Thus, (7*2)*2=28 is the diameter of the bigger one.
