Kudos for the right answer and explanation
Each side of the square is 8.
If we consider AD and DC as two legs of a right triangle then the hypotenuse will be AC.
AE = AC/2.
AC^2 = AD^2 + DC^2 --> 8^2 + 8^2 --> 128.
AC = 8√2.
Hence AE = 8√2/2 --> 4√2. Therefore Qty A is the right answer.
