I am thinking for a while because someone mentioned that they have gotten perfect score in Gre. As I recently appeared, I found the quant was very hard to solve. I wrote all these hard problems and gave that to my friend to solve and we were both startled. I am from physics background and my major is condensed matter. I remembered 20 of the quant problems (except the simple one), which need more time to solve, even though I have strategies. I got 155 in verbal. I don't know how people score perfect in quant. Perhaps, Gre is related with majors and test centres as well as date of the test. I know I got 20 correct in experiment quant as I finished that in 20 minutes, and I got 150 in quant in total.
I am good in calculus, algebra and other math problems (from my previous college exams). However, the Gre just made me feel I am nothing. I think, there must be some serious problems within the Gre or Gre is not asking, specifically the quant problems, similar to the guide books. Gre is non-profit company, but I feel that Gre is playing a gambit for the profit. I always respect the policy of University to have selection criteria so that there is equality of admission. But..

Hi,
I scored 42% in Maths in high school and a 161 in Quants GRE. Being honest, I feel these things are completely unrelated. Why? Yes, GRE does test your Quantitative Ability which consists of mostly high school Maths. But, the problem here is GRE is unlike other competitive exams which requires you to rigorously crunch numbers and having a background in quants does help a little bit but not completely. It is about how well you can handle your critical thinking ability (Yes, critical thinking in Quant) in a stressful situation. Because ETS is smart enough to trick you just a changing a few words here and there and make you do a tedious calculation, even though you don't need one, it was just about reading and understanding the trick and the question correctly.
The most important thing is "KNOW YOUR BASICS CORRECTLY" if you know where to hit you can surely get the answer right. And yes, do try to understand every trick in question you solve from OG or any other "good" reference books.
P.s. How do you know that all your 20 question in experimental section are correct and which was you experimental section.

In test centre, the first section of quant or verbal is same and I think it is same for the home test also. Now, people can easily remember these problems and can share with other. Besides that people can easily remember long RCs and it's choices. So, GRE should consider about that also. Some questions of GRE are trivial one. It is against GRE to write these math questions so I can not mention these here. I think, GRE should consider the problems in its quant session or it should provide free textbook or mock test to study these tricks. I can also build set of questions of my own from the elementary maths and give GRE to solve and I know they will not score perfect in that. So, GRE is not doing their task as their founder established GRE to perform. GRE is shifting towards some bad business of torturing students. It is hard to tell, but there must be some other reason for behaving like this.
I finished the experience section in about 20 minutes and I reviewed all answers twice and recalculated all these answers. Experimental questions were very easy as compare to other two sections of quants. Some questions are like calculating the interest of 10 yrs with interest 4,6,8,8,12,12,14,16,16,18 percent each yr as he pays 1/10 of the money each yr or finding the average of four items if one of them is 2 or 3 times greater that others. These are questions of non experimental section and easy to solve if I have time. These are only two of them and I got 5 numerical entries in first section and this is the reason why I am asking how someone can get perfect in GRE. If I get questions which I faced in experimental (little more hard than that) then I know I can score 160-160 because in previous attempt I scored 160. This time, I used other id for exam to check how these system works and I found that the system contains incorrect algorithm to calculate the knowledge of students.
