Let's simplify qty A:

\(4^2 + 5^2 = x^2\)
or, \(16 + 25 = x^2\)
or, \(41 = x^2\)
or, \(\sqrt{41} = x\)

qty B:

\(7^2 = 3^2 + y^2\)
or, \(49 = 9 + y^2\)
or, \(40 = y^2\)
or, \(\sqrt{41} = [m]y\)

Therefore, A

We can solve for the unknown sides using the Pythagorean theorem.

For the first triangle: x^2 = 4^2 + 5^2, which simplifies to x^2 = 41

For the second triangle: 7^2 = 3^2 + y^2, which simplifies to y^2 = 40

x is clearly greater, so the correct answer is A.
