IMPORTANT RULE: If two sides of a triangle have lengths A and B, then . . .
|A - B| < third side < A + B
So, we can write: |2 - 1| < x < 2 + 1
Simplify: 1 < x < 3
Since x must be an integer, x must equal 2
Answer: D
