To maximize recall, readers should structure their reading time into sessions of roughly 30 minutes. This avoids the boredom and distraction of _____(i)______ the normal attention span, which averages only 20-30 minutes. Further, since the psychological phenomenon of the “primacy” and “recency” effects dictate that students tend to remember the ____ (ii)_______ and endings of passages much better than the material in between, breaking reading into many small blocks ensures ____(iii)_______ of the memorable beginnings and endings.
| Blank (i) | Blank (ii) | Blank (iii) |
|---|---|---|
| A. meeting | D. beginnings | G. more |
| B. challenging | E. epilogue | H. fewer |
| C. exceeding | F. structure | I. continuance |

Readers should structure their reading time into sessions of 30 mins. Why?
This avoids the boredom and distraction of ______ the normal attention span, which averages only 20-30 minutes.
Here we need something that goes beyond limit. Like surpassing. exceeding
Further, since the psychological phenomenon of the “primacy” and “recency” effects dictate that students tend to remember the _______ and endings of passages much better than the material in between, breaking reading into many small blocks ensures _______ of the memorable beginnings and endings.
For second blank, we need a word for start. beginning
We need to break reading into many blocks so we will have many start & end that can be remembered. more

The first option is obtained because the text said that the "normal attention span" is 20-30 minutes, so it's necessary to read each 30 minutes because in this way we don't "exceed" it. The second option is easy because said that the between content is not remembered, only the "beginnings" and "endings". Finally, If you break the text in several part, obviously there are "more" beginnings and endings.
