For second blank, we need a word for start. beginning

The first option is obtained because the text said that the "normal attention span" is 20-30 minutes, so it's necessary to read each 30 minutes because in this way we don't "exceed" it. The second option is easy because said that the between content is not remembered, only the "beginnings" and "endings". Finally, If you break the text in several part, obviously there are "more" beginnings and endings.
