Consider the amount spend on rent = 100
The amount spend on food = (2 / 5) * 100 = 40
The amount spend on clothing = (1 / 4) * 40 = 10
Average of amount spend on food and clothing = (40 + 10) / 2 = 25
Thus, the amount spend on rent (100) is 4 times the average amount spend on food and clothing
The amount spend on food = (2 / 5) * 100 = 40
The amount spend on clothing = (1 / 4) * 40 = 10
Average of amount spend on food and clothing = (40 + 10) / 2 = 25
