I have solved using venn diagrams concept.
Here we get in total 4 regions where
Region 1 consists of students who took only algebra
Region 2 consists of students who took only chemistry
Region 3 consists of students who took both algebra and chemistry
Region 4 consists of students who took neither
Now if we want to maximize the students who took both then we have to take as many students as possible till either of the region who took only algebra or chemistry becomes zero. In this case as no. Of students in chemistry is minimum so maximum no of students who took both is 121.
