This question is a useful reminder that geometric diagrams on the GRE are not necessarily drawn to scale.

So, the only conclusions we can draw about the above diagram is that ABCE is a quadrilateral and CED is a triangle.
That's it!
Yes, ABCE LOOKS like a square, and it LOOKS like many of the angles in the diagram are 90 degrees, but we certainly can't conclude that.

So for example, the following diagram meets all of the conditions set out in the question:

In this case, side CD is clearly longer than side AB.


This next diagram also meets all of the conditions set out in the question:

Explanation::

In GRE the figures are not drawn to scale and no information is given to proceed further.

Hence option D

For those who think why option D ? GRE Geometry Figures are NOT drawn to scale. So there is a high possibility that CD may be way smaller or larger than it is shown. So are the other sides. Hence Option D. Always remember. Unless not stated, DO NOT ASSUME any measurements
