Reversing the formula for the mean it is easy to see that if the mean of temperatures in x days is 70, the sum of these temperatures is 70x.
Then, statement two can be rewritten in formula as \(\frac{70x+75}{x+1} = 71\), from which we can get that \(x = 4\).
Since 4 < 5, quantity B is larger!
