Let's test the answer choices....
A) x = -4
The three values become (-4 + 2), (-4 + 4), and (-4 + 6)
Simplify to get: -2, 0 and 2
The average = (-2 + 0 + 2)/3 = 0/3 = 0
Perfect!
Answer: A
