Can anyone clarify on this? does the FRE require to know the volume of the sphere or a hemisphere?

I have done tons of exercise and this is the first time during my prep that I encounter those volume

In the Official Guide to the GRE General Test, the test-makers provide formulas for finding the volume of a rectangular solid as well as the volume of a cylinder.
The formula for the volume of a sphere (or hemisphere) appears nowhere in the book.

If there were an official GRE question that required the volume of a sphere, you would be provided with the formula.

Greenlight test Prep guy makes sense, there is no formula involved regarding the volume of the above mentioned shapes. DO NOT attempt the question, it is out of scope!

As Brent pointed out this question, basically, is not tested on the GRE.

So there is no need to discuss on it.

The volume of a sphere is \(\frac{4}{3}\)*pi*\(r^3\)

From here, I would use 3.14 as a substitute for pi.

As was stated above, you don't need to know this formula for the GRE. Though I believe you do for the GMAT.

Area of hemisphere = 2* π* r^2 (Diameter is given as 7.5, thus radius is 3.75) Hence, area is 88.3

Area of right cylinder = π * r^2 * h = 16 * 2 * 3.14 = 100.48

Area of cube = e^3 = (4.5)^3 = 91.1

Area of rectangular prism = 2(wl+hl+hw) = 2(5*7 + 3*7 + 3*5) = 142

Area of sphere = 4 *π *r^2 = 4 *3.14 *9 = 113.04
