If the number of visitors to a certain website on the 1st of the month was 1.5 times the number of visitors on the 2nd of the month, and the number of visitors on the 3rd and 4th of the month was each 3/4 the number of visitors on the 2nd of the month, then the number of visitors on the 1st of the month was how many times the average (arithmetic mean) of the number of visitors for the first four days of the month?

Quote:
Call the number of visitors on the 2nd x. Then, the number of visitors on the first was 1.5x. The number of visitors on the 3rd and 4th were each \(\frac{3}{4}x\).
The average number of visitors per day, then, is: \(\frac{1.5x+x+0.75x+0.75x}{4} =\frac{4x}{4} = x\)
The number of visitors on the 1st of the month was 1.5x, so that is 1.5 times the average number of visitors, x. Choice (C) is correct.
