Given that,
a = positive integer and divisible by 2. Hence. a = positive even numbers
ab < 1 and ab > 0, hence, b must be a fraction.
Now,
if b = 1/2 and a = 2, then, ab = 2*1/2 = 1 , this doesn't satisfy the given condition.Hence, option C is omitted.
If b = 1/4 and a = 2, then ab = 2 * 1/4 = 1/2, this will satisfy the given condition.
Hence, b = 1/4 which is less than 1/2 and answer is B.

Let us try to find the maximum value of b, and for that we have to take the least value of a.
Since a is a positive integer and even, 2 is the least value of a. Therefore least value of ab is 2b, so 0 < ab < 1 means 0 < 2b < 1 or \(0<b<\frac{1}{2}\). Thus A<B
