Explanation:
Since, we need to maximize the number of cans - Let us assume length of the box to be 20cm, width as 18cm and height 12 cm
Now, we can either lay the cylinders or make them stand upright
So, Length wise we can put \(\frac{20}{6} = 3\) cylinders
Width wise we can put \(\frac{18}{6} = 3\) cylinders, and
we can stack two cans Height wise
Col. A: (3)(3)(2) = 18
Col. B: 25
Hence, option B

Let's posit each cylinderical can as small box having sides as following:l/w/h=6/6/6 (here, l=w=r*2=3*2). Now it looks like we have a cube, and solution will be much easier if we consider the volume of a large box fitting small boxes mentioned with volume unit dimensions of 6^3. Volume of large box divided by 6^3 is 12*18*20/6^3=20. IMO, answer is B
Note: realizing that box/container fitting questions should not be solved via volume - this is not correct, I am still using the shortcut, as the indication of cube exists here..
