Let the Seats be numbered as 1 2 3 4 5 6 and since same gender are not adjacent, it can be either G B G B G B or B G B G B G.
And 3 boys can be arranged in 3 seats in 6 ways, so boys and girls combination = 6 * 6 and for both the combination is 6 * 6 * 2 = 72.
Answer is D)
