x=2.5
6x = 6 x 2.5
= 15
The answer is B as 6x=15 is lesser than 18

Here is a slightly different approach:
Given: 2x + 4 = 9
Subtract 4 from both sides of the equation to get: : 2x = 5
Multiply both sides of the equation by 3 to get: 6x = 15
Substitute to get:
QUANTITY A: 6x = 15
QUANTITY B: 18
18 > 15, so the answer is B
