GRE Math Challenge #117 - Value of 3.7(10^7) [#permalink]
sandy wrote:
\(3.7(10^7) =\)

(A) 370,000
(B) 3,700,000
(C) 37,000,000
(D) 370,000,000
(E) 3,700,000,000

Key property: When we multiply the number N by \(10^k\) (where \(k\) is a positive integer), we can calculate the product by moving N's decimal point \(k\) spaces to the right.

Since \(3.7\) is equivalent to \(3.70000000\), we can take \(3.70000000\) and move the decimal point 7 spaces to the right to get: \(37,000,000.0\)
