A, D. If the comments were devastating (choice B), significant (choice C), or even distasteful (choice E), the playwright might indeed lose sleep. If they were comical (choice F), he might not, but there is no synonym for comical among the choices. The best answer is specious (choice A), which means the same as unfounded (choice D).
