Since we're dealing with MEDIANS, let's first arrange the values in ASCENDING ORDER
List A: 1, 2, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 15
x is the median of the even numbers in List A.
EVEN numbers: 2, 2, 6, 8
The two middlemost numbers are 2 and 6
x = (2+6)/2 = 4
y is the median of the prime numbers in List A.
PRIME numbers: 2, 2, 3, 5, 7, 13
The two middlemost numbers are 3 and 5
y = (3+5)/2 = 4
z is the median of the least and greatest numbers in List A.
Least and greatest numbers are 1 and 15
z = (1 + 15)/2 = 8
We get...
Quantity A: median of (2)(4), 4 and 8
Quantity B: 8
Simplify:
Quantity A: median of 8, 4 and 8
Quantity B: 8
We get:
Quantity A: 8
Quantity B: 8
The quantities are equal
