In the figure above, if the area of the circle with center O is \(9\pi\), what is the area of triangle POQ?

Area of circle \(= \pi r^2\)
Since we're told the area of the given circle is \(9\pi\), we can substitute to get: \(9\pi = \pi r^2\)
Divide both sides of the equation by \(pi\) to get: \(pi = r^2\), which means \(r = 3\)
If \(r = 3\), \(OP=3\) and \(OQ = 3\)
Area of triangle \(= \frac{1}{2}(base)(height)\)
\(= \frac{1}{2}(3)(3)\)
\(= 4.5\)
Answer: A
