Re: Admission for MS [#permalink]
Hi,
I am currently working in an IT field (TCS). And now I have got an opportunity to get into a Government Banking Organization. So I wanted to know if the Government Job would aid me better than a normal IT work would to build a better profile? Say if I have a GRE score of 325?

I am looking forward for Computer Science courses in some good Universities. 😀

Thank you.

You may need to show the reason for the transition from IT to Banking to MS CS, I think.

If banking exp is a short-term exp then it would be fine, I guess.

Hey, is Govt banking job is purely Ops, if yes then there is no addition towards MS CS, they will even doubt your choice of program imo

Hi,
The job is not OPS.

So will it help if I take up MBA instead of MS.

Thank you so much! 😇

Tbh you have to decide first which way you want to go.

MS or MBA?

Keep your end goal in mind and decide that which one will take you closer to that.

You are 1. Confused between private v/s government job role and 2. MBA v/s MS.
Allow me to throw in another question here for you before you embark on making a decision for yourself. What are your goals out of your higher education? Are you clear about what job role/industry you wish to create an impact in post your MBA or MS? How confident are you of the kind of impact you've already had in your work while at TCS? Also, how many years of work experience do you have? Once you have answered these questions for yourself, your search for the right answer to private v/s government and MBA v/s MS will become clearer. If not, please get in touch with us at team.pg@theredpen.in to help you navigate through these answers.
