We're given the following system of equations:
\(4x-y=7\)
\(2x+2y=4\)
Multiply both sides of the top equation by 2 to get the equivalent system:
\(8x-2y=14\)
\(2x+2y=4\)
We can always eliminate the y-variable by adding the two equations to get: \(10x=18\)
Solve to get: \(x=\frac{18}{10} = 1.8\)
Quantity B is greater.
Answer: B
