The first sentence should lead you to understand that music is important to human beings because it satisfies a need for artistic expression and is connected (or yoked) to our psychological makeup. The parallel points in the last paragraph are that music both expresses and
engenders feelings. The passage presents the positive relationship between music and human beings, so none of the negative choices fits the context. Repudiates means rejects, and inures means to harden to or become immune to the effects of. Antithetical means opposite, and insensitive means thoughtless. Undermine means to weaken, and verbalize means to speak. None of these choices makes sense in the passage.
