Rewrite as: (1/8)k = 80 [NOTE: we should recognize that 12.5% = 0.125 = 1/8]
Multiply both sides by 8 to get: k = 640
k is y percent of 80.
So, 640 is y percent of 80.
Or 640 = (y/100)(80)
Simplify: 640 = 80y/100
Simplify more: 640 = 4y/5
Divide both sides by 4 to get: 160 = y/5
Multiply both sides by 5 to get: 800 = y
Given:
Quantity A: y
Quantity B: 650
So, we get:
Quantity A: 800
Quantity B: 650
Answer: A
