Carcass "Imminent landing upon an area", does this mean Britain's area or Germany's area? I thought its Germany's area which is not so exposed i.e fairly protected and where Britain's forces are attacking but the explanation states otherwise. Please suggest.

The meaning of the sentence is the following in sim0ple words:

The Britain's forces or troops were creating a trick to distract the enemy (German forces) from landing in an area such as Gallipoli (which is by the way is a small beautiful town located in Apulia - Deep south of Italy) BUT their real intention was to land in a nearby area LESS exposed.

The center is Gallipoli but they wanted to attach nearby. So, neither A German area nor a Britain area.

when you say : imminent landing upon an area that was, regardless if you know or less where Gallipoli is located on this planet, the intention is near that point. No doubt. Even because, when you know that the Britons are landing does not make any sense that they are landing upon their OWN territories. Britons will land in Britain to fight the Nazi germans......mhhhhhh makes no sense

The other concern is the following

Britain had saved her better infantry

Britain which is England and that is a country state nation cannot save HER infantry or land troops but ITS infantry. Her is a possessive pronoun for females. It is a possessive form of “she".

Hope this helps

I didn't notice anything in the para which talked whether the area was exposed or not.
