Given: x² + x – 30
In other words: x² + 1x – 30
So, we're looking for two values that have a SUM of 1 and a PRODUCT of -30
Those two numbers are 6 and -5
So we can factor the given expression as follows: b]x² + x – 30 = (x + 6)(x - 5)[/b]
Answer: B
