Choose any series of consecutive odd integers, e.g.:
v= 3
w= 5
x= 7
y= 9
If (x+y) = 16 and (v+w) = 8 ---> Then, the difference is 8
Note the difference is the same regardless of the chosen series.
The answer is (D)

We have
v < w < x < y
since we know these are consecutive and odd, they will have a difference of 2 between them, so
v < v+2 < v+4 < v+6
then (x+y) - (v+w) becomes (v+4 + v+6) - (v + v+2)
= 2v+10 -2v -2
= 8
Hence option D
