With thousands of universities offering your preferred program to study ahead, you need to pick the right options strategically. First, rule out curriculum options that don’t align with your short term goals. All programs that have the same name don’t always offer the same curriculum combinations. If a course is too quantitative or a bit generic, then rule those out. Then, categorize programs that are research focused and have a thesis as a graduation requirement together and on the other hand retain programs that have a more application outlook. Pick one category. Sometimes, the decision may not be as black and white and it’s okay for a couple of programs to cross a category, but inherently you will be able to obtain a shortlist after these two steps. Finally, focus on the duration, location and employment outcomes as they align with your list of priorities.
