Eloquent also means "persuasive in speaking or writing". His eloquent (or persuasive speaking) was not sufficient to sway (influence) the jury and stirring words (inspiring words) could not conceal the defendant’s evident guilt.

The defense attorney’s _______ closing statement was not enough to sway the jurors in his client’s favor; stirring words could not conceal the defendant’s evident guilt.

Even though the statement was pretty clear it was NOT enough to solve the situation of fix it in favor of his client

B is the only answer that expresses the idea of clear
