I prepared for almost 3 months and took the exam on 29th July 2022.
Verbal- I started my verbal preparations by strengthening my vocab. Earlier, I followed the vocab list by Barron and later by Gregmat and the list on this site itself. With stronger vocab, I felt a massive improvement in my verbal. I mainly prepared for the test by myself, so at first, I used the OG and 5 lb book. Later on, I discovered Big Book, which despite being slightly easy (maybe because being slightly easy) helped me improve the way I break the question up. And finally less than a month before taking my test, I discovered this site which I believe helped me a lot. Especially in dealing with tough TC questions. Helped me understand how other test takers/experts approach questions. This helped boost my Verbal Score to 160s. Days before the official GRE, I used to score well into the 160s and sometimes even mid-160s. However, I feel like I took the final test too warily, rechecking my answers again and again. This left me slightly lesser time than I would have liked for the later questions, which may have cost me a couple of points.
Quant- Quant was always my forte as I am from an engineering background. So I didn't practice math too much. It was just a question of avoiding the errors from negligence, which of course I didn't succeed totally. Furthermore, I felt the questions in the test were slightly different than I had been seeing, requiring too many calculations.
AWA- In this part, I was always prone to grammatical errors, especially in the articles and prepositions. The structure of my passages was influenced by Greg's. My logic and structure are sound, but maybe the grammatical errors and vocabulary cost the points.
