Multiply both side with y.
It will give the x on A side and xyy on B side.
Next divide both sides with x. It will give side A 1 and side B you.
Here we can try different values of y except zero. It will prove that answer is D.

Correct me if I am wrong, but we cannot multiply the quantities because the variables can be negative.
The best strategy here is picking values...
