Instead of solving algebraically, use a shortcut
Put r = 0 in the equation in the question and then in each of the answer choices. If the answer in both cases is same, we found our solution.
At r=0, 12r2–51r+45= 45
A 3(4r−5)(r+3) = -45
B 3(4r+5)(r−3) = -45
C 3(4r+3)(r−5) = -45
D 3(4r−5)(r−3) = 45
E 3r2–15 = -15
Answer is D
