A(a,b) is Area of the shaded region in blue + A(b,c) is the area of the shaded region in green
Clearly sum of these two is equal to the area of the shaded region in red = A(a,c)
So, both quantities are equal.
So, Answer is C

If you visualize the question in your mind then: A(a,b)+A(b,c)= area between a and c
A(a,c)= area between a and c
So the answer is C.
