Educational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed.
Education is the key factor for a student development. Right education provides the direction to build self confidence and achieve goals. Education not only plays a pivotal role in an individual development but also represents the country potential in the global platform. Educational institutes play a primary role in providing the quality education to the students. It is the educational institute that design the curriculum in a way that would act as the stepping stone for the students to achieve goals. However, this should not dissuade students to take up the courses that they might potentially fails as there are many options to explore before making a career decision.
Educational institutes provide the plethora of courses of various genre including arts, engineering, humanities, management studies, sports engineering, personal development and many more. This would help to students to explore every option and decide the take up the most suitable course as their career choice. It is upon the students to make the best use of the options provided and widen the aspects of the education. In a developing country like India, there has been emphasize of pursuing the career either Engineering or Medicine as these programs would yield stable and high-salaried jobs over-shadowing other programs such as arts and commerce. However, recent statistics shows over three lakh students in the country every year fail to fetch internship or jobs after graduating as there is a huge mismatch in demand and supply. Despite such figures students are made to opt for the popular courses as they lack in exploring their area of interest. Therefore, it is important for the educational institution not to hobble the opportunities from the students, hypnotically thinking about the unlikeness to succeed.
Education needs not have to be in a subjective form. There are many educational institutes that focus on such as acting, singing, dancing and much more. Many a time students fail to identify their talent as the educational institutes either does not offer student different program or the student mind is narrowed down to be subjective. However, it is in the later stage that the students might explore what they are passionate about. R. Madavan, a successful Bollywoood actor, in his recent interview revealed on how he discovered about his passion at a very late age as the education institutions focused on Engineering subjects, lacking in encouraging to opt for different program predicting the failure. Hence educational institutes must not only offer various programs but also needs to encourage students to actively take it up and explore their genre.
In conclusion, educational institutes should not dissuade students from pursing area of study as no one knows what would future hold. Students should be made viable to all the area to have a better understanding of career choice and a good future.
