The first smallpox prevention methods were inoculations, in [#permalink]
1
Hey,

Check this : Inoculation differs from vaccination. HOW ? It uses a standard dose of dead or weakened virus culture and therefore poses a much lower risk of fatal infection.

From this, we can infer that a vaccination was much more safer than inoculation.

The passage only talks abut smallpox so there is no issue for broader scope for the word disease.

For suggest question - keep one thing in mind. Do not think outside the scope of the passage. No general knowledge but just what the passage indicates.

Please ask if the doubt remains.

Isnt disease a too broad scope for answering?
Also the passage mentions vaccination poses a much lower risk of fatal infection .. and not otherwise

Can you please help clarify ? which is the best way to tackle passage suggest questions?

In passage there is nothing mentioned about comparison of vaccine and inoculum dosage so how we can infer they are "likely to be more similar" ?
