Hello!
first, I find out how many times 49 can go into 2000, So I just multiplied 49 by 10, and got 490.
I then multiplied it by 2, and got 980, I doubled it again, and got 1960, which is the highest the number can get.
Thus 49 can go into 2000 40 times.
For quantity B I just divided 2000 by 50, which is 40.
so the answer is c

The number of positive multiples of 49 less than 2000
The number of positive multiples of 50 less than or equal to 2000

The quantity in Column A is greater
The quantity in Column B is greater
The two quantities are equal
The relationship cannot be determined from the information given

We are looking at the multiples of 49 and 50. every multiple makes a difference of 50-49=1 between the multiples.
2000 = 50 * 40 so 40 multiples of 50...
since 49 > 40, 49 will also have 40 multiples till 2000 and the last multiple will be 2000-40=1,960 = 49*40

thus C

A. The quantity in Column A is greater
B. The quantity in Column B is greater
C. The two quantities are equal
D. The relationship cannot be determined from the information given

Kudos for correct solution.

Keep things simple when working with multiples -
if you divide 2000 by 49 the result is 40.xxx. Because the last multiple of 49 is to be less than 2000 the result is 40 for A

for B, follow the same 2000/50 = 40 exact. The question says less than equal to for B. Hence the value for B is also 40.
So, A = 40, B = 40.......ans- C
