Let's examine two different cases...
case ii:
Quantity A: The standard deviation of {1,2,5,6}
Quantity B: The standard deviation of {8,9,10,11}
In this case, Quantity A is greater
case i:
Quantity A: The standard deviation of {1,2,3,4}
Quantity B: The standard deviation of {8,9,12,13}
In this case, Quantity B is greater
