QUESTION 3

9. In the context in which it appears, “currency” most nearly means

A. funding
B. acceptance
C. value
D. uniqueness
E. contemporaneity

Maybe we can be tricked by the association between currency (dollar, yen, euro) and value.

However, here in the context currency clearly means that the idea had validation or it was grounded and not just a fantasy.

therefore, acceptance is the right choice

q3 why acceptance than value?

Hi There!

Currency means the fact or quality of being generally accepted or in use or to introduce/invent.

Even when you refer the context, only acceptance fits value does not make sense. You can try substituting.

Hope this helps!

I still don't understand why value doesn't make sense?

Maybe you would want to elaborate why value makes sense? So that I can help you clarify it a bit more precisely.

QUESTION 2

8. Select the sentence of the passage in which the author draws a parallel between two different methods of communication.

However, the individuals who gave the signs had actually lived together at or near what was known as Anadarko, Indian Territory, for a considerable time, and the resulting uniformity of their signs might either have been thought of as jargon or as the natural tendency to compromise for mutual understanding—the unification so often observed in oral speech, coming under many circumstances out of former heterogeneity
