Let T = the total number of marbles in the jar
In a jar, 60% of the marbles are red and the rest are green.
Number of red marbles = 60% of T = 0.6T
Number of green marbles = 40% of T = 0.4T
QUANTITY A: 40% of the RED marbles in the jar = 40% of 0.6T = (0.4)(0.6T) = 0.24T
QUANTITY B: 60% of the GREEN marbles in the jar = 60% of 0.4T = (0.6)(0.4T) = 0.24T
Answer: C

Red marbles are 0.6 of total no. of marbles. It follows that
Green marbles are 0.4 of total no. of marbles.
If the no. of marbles in the jar are x then,
Qty A = 0.6*0.4*x
Qty B = 0.4*0.6*x
Both are same so option C
Green marbles are 0.4 of total no. of marbles.
If the no. of marbles in the jar are x then,
Qty A = 0.6*0.4*x
Qty B = 0.4*0.6*x
Both are same so option C
