This one's tricky. It's tempting to think that because x + y must be an integer value, then x and y must be integers.
But that's not the case! It could be that x = 9.5, making y = 14.5. In this case, 9.5 + 14.5 = 24. And that's our largest possible integer value. If x were any larger than 9.5, like 9.9, then y would also end in .9, and their sum wouldn't be an integer.
