The keyword here is COULD.

Scanning the answer choices, I see that C could be true.
If x = 2 and y = 3, then (x^y)/4 = (2³)/4 = 2, and 2 IS an even integer.

Answer: C

Please correct this...
x=3 and y=2 but you took x=2 and y=3, which is wrong, coz, then (x^y)/4 = (3root2)/4 = 9/4, which is not an even integer.
